The attorneys at Parenteau & O'Hara have been involved in SIU investigations for many years.
Prior to attending law school, Jack Parenteau was an SIU investigator and manager with Aetna Casualty and Surety managing nine investigators with cases in New England and New York State. He also supervised nine claim representatives who handled auto theft cases exclusively.
As an SIU professional, Jack investigated a significant, high-end auto body repair shop fraud scheme that resulted in a $7.2 million dollar verdict for Aetna Casualty and Surety. Transferring his investigative skills to the legal profession in 1991, he began handling major R.I.C.O. actions on behalf of insurers seeking recoveries from medical providers and body shops.
Jack has conducted over 7000 Examinations Under Oath handling cases involving staged collisions, arson, marine losses, valuable item losses, burglaries, PIP/MEDPAY, cargo losses, bodily injury claims, auto theft claims, commercial general liability claims and many more.
Jack has handled suspected fraudulent claims on behalf of insurers in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. He has provided analysis, and strategy for ongoing investigations as it relates to conducting complex investigations with hundreds of claims, as well as individual claims.
Diana O'Hara was an Assistant District Attorney before becoming a civil litigator handling insurance defense cases for the last several years. She has extensive experience in handling all types of insurance investigations working closely with experts almost on a daily basis on cases to determine whether the claim is fraudulent or a product defect.
Diana is licensed in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island and is prepared to lend her expertise in the ongoing effort to detect and deny fraudulent claims.
